The Bunker of Life
30:16
|
|||
My long-dead grandfather I saw suddenly in a dream
Wearing his best Sunday clothes
As if to attend the holy mass
With arms wide open, he beckoned me to come near
But standing at his bunker's doorstep I hesitated
He smiled and slowly strolled towards me
"My time has come, but you are not ready yet" he said
As the gate was slowly shut in front of my hazy eyes
He whispered "See you in Atlantis"
And the bunker sunk in the cold earth
For forty days I fell in a deep depression
And when I finally arose, my eyes could see clear
Some call it Lemuria, others speak of Hyperborea
Wise tongues sing the praise of the mighty Atlantis
Appearances deceive, but their essence remains the same
Deep in the collective unconscious I dug
To find the truth in my grandfather's words
Until I realised that I am cosmic spawn
Child of a superior race
But aren't we all?
Once upon a time all eyes could see, all ears could hear
But deaf and blind we now walk towards our fate
Gateways closed to sacred knowledge
Access denied to our failing consciousness
Ever since my grandfather spoke to me
I continue walking the left path towards Atlantis' lights
From the stone circles of great Albion
To ancient Hellenic temples
In mighty pyramids and the vast deserts of the earth
I'm roaming to teach the gospel of truth
But who is listening?
Precious like good old wine
Scrolls have been passed from generation to generation
Until buried under the dust of aeons
The ancient lore now hides from consciousness
A sign we are approaching the end, la fine è vicina
Passing on my right side the zillions of souls
Heading the other direction
Hopelessly lost in wilderness
Humanity is doomed, la fine è vicina

In mighty Babylon with its hanging gardens
We learned the meaning of science
Knowledge coupled with will
Modern wonders of engineering
Humanity on the verge of reaching adulthood
What happened?
All we built is now forgotten and lost
Arcane knowledge remains elusive
Those guarding its secrets
Have long perished
Or refuse to share their wisdom
Answers are out of reach
For the questions are wrong
We are looking at the outside
But the essence has always been inside
Dig, my friend, and you will find

Alexandria's Library
16:35
|
|||
Remember how we used to meet in Alexandria's library?
That vast conglomerate of knowledge and power
Together we would look at papyrus' scrolls for hours
Studying the ancient lore, consuming words of wisdom
The world seemed ours back then
All we ever needed to know at the tip of our fingers
Scribbled on precious scrolls by rippled hands
Memories preserved with magical ink
The muses sang their enchanting song for us
While we created and debated in their honour
Our own words of wisdom soon immortalised
Among the writings of the wise men
Things look very different now
As we behold this devastation
The annihilation of our archaic traditions
Means the umbilical chord is cut forever
Fire has eaten the insides of our minds
Out of the ashes and hot coal
One needs to create strength and courage
To find wisdom for future generations
We lost sight of each other
And as aeons and aeons passed
We almost forgot of each other's existence
And our paths took us to different directions
As I behold your melancholy face from a distance
For the very first time in many years
Sadness overcomes my ancient soul
Now realising that you never forgave me
Traditions come and go my friend
But once established, they poison the mind
You already are all you need to be
And ancient texts only serve
to detract from your essence
So wipe these tears and move on now
Knowing that Alexandria's library perished for a reason
The hand that carried the torch
Did a great service to mankind;
Intellegetis unum diem

Greeting Mausolus' Tomb
04:23
|
|||
O my captain, my sole reason of existence
As I enter your majestic tomb to end my life
In the company of thousands of servants
and once loved horses
I thank you from the bottom of my heart
Thank you not so much for the way you lived
But for the way you died
A humble lesson to us all
Always aspiring to beauty and riches
The repulsion I feel at the foul smell
of your rotten body in death
Can only be matched by my utter contempt
At your hideous demeanour in life
This existence has never seemed more meaningless and vain
So I embrace my awful death with passion
And look forward to the suffocating moment
That will forever take away my pointless breath of life
